Real-Time Data Collection:  Lessons Learned from the Dead Cow Tool and Hurricane Harvey

Provide leaders with information to develop a well-planned crowd-sourced data application that improves communication and speed response times in disasters. Recognize the potential benefits of crowd-sourced and employee-sourced real-time geospatial data during emergency response.  Present steps taken by United States Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Texas State Office for the deployment of the “dead cow tool” and share lessons learned.
